Quarterly Update - Jan to Mar 2024

The first quarter of the calendar year has kicked off strongly confirming the appetite for small business funding in New Zealand.

According to RNA, although overall credit applications fell in the last quarter of 2023, demand in the hospitality, accommodation and transport sector remained strong. These are key sectors of the market where CFI Finance operates.
RNZ says asset loans in this period rose by 4.8% and other business loans rose by 2.9%. For the full story, click here.

Feedback we have received from clients is that banks are continuing the trend of restricting lending to SME’s and as a result we are seeing an improvement in quality applications coming through.
